This is a basement we designed in central London.

In order to design this basement we required trial holes to expose the make-up of the existing foundations and the earth below. We then attended site to take measurements and begin the process of designing the outer retaining walls. These walls were of reinforced concrete to prevent any earth pressure from causing the walls to collapse. Once this aspect was outlined, the next process was to devise a method statement that would allow the works to progress on site without any causes for concern for the contractor and the adjoining neighbours.

The final design was completed, submitted to planning and building control for approval. The scheme was approved and construction commenced. We then continued our role monitoring the adjoining properties to ensure no movement of the adjoining structures. The scheme was completed within 4 months to the client’s satisfaction.
